How NOT to Build a Member Site1097

Well, I think I've figured out "999 ways not to make a light bulb" -

Here's one of my previous member sites Field Rep 101..

This time around I want to do it "right" - or better anyway!

Here's a new site I'm developing.. Hangout Mastermind -

My thought was to set up a subdomain of "/blog" now, then add "/member" later..

Seems like the way to go about this. Curious what some other folks recommend.

What approach is better for Google? ..for other considerations?

Is the question which is better "blog" or "member"?

The answer is "member" is better. Member becomes the category that the member forum exists in.

I'd go with "community" if I were doing this forum over again.

Hangout Mastermind Community is something that might be searched for.

Hangout Mastermind Member or Blog ... not so much.

@jycmba, What happens when "Hangout" is no longer a desirable term?
I trust you are doing more than just changing the name...

@Belew - that's a great idea! I hadn't thought of that - it's only a few letter difference for sub-domain but probably so much more effective.

@morrnel - we'll see.. it's a MVP based on recent experiences. Who knows what will happen a year or 5 yrs from now? Maybe we'll all finally have flying cars and take regular trips to the moon.
